Lowcountry Foundation Repair encapsulated John’s crawl space, sealing off the outside world. The project took three days to complete. First 85 linear feet of sock drainage pipe was installed along the interior foundation wall, beneath the porch and the left side of the home.

1,786 square feet of CleanSpace drainage matting was then used to cover the earth. Drainage matting is designed to help channel water to sump pumps for removal. It also protects CleanSpace liner from damage, which is installed on top of the matting.

CleanSpace liner was used to cover the matting, foundation walls and crawl space support columns. All six crawl space vents were sealed. The old crawl space door was replaced with an EverLast Crawl Space Door. A SmartSump was installed with alarm to remove water from the crawl space.

Lowcountry Foundation Repair first removed the debris from the crawl space, then installed 48 linear feet of sock drain pipe around the interior perimeter of the crawl space near the kitchen. CleanSpace liner was installed over the earth, up the foundations, and was used to wrap the support columns to reduce moisture from reaching the foundation of the home. The job required 3,648 square feet of liner.

A Wet Basement in Brunswick, GA is Fixed with WaterGuard and a SuperSump

Lowcountry Foundation Repair installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement interior to channel water to a ⅓ horsepower Zoeller cast iron SuperSump pump that was installed in the corner of the basement for water removal.

WaterGuard is designed to capture water seepage along the wall and floor joints. It is made from thick plastic and won’t rust or decay over time. Nine WaterGuard inspection ports were installed in the system to allow for annual inspection. Water collected is channeled to a SuperSump pump where it is pumped away from the foundation.

Before installing the WaterGuard, the basement floor had to be jackhammered and concrete removed. Once the site was prepped, the WaterGuard was installed and covered with fresh concrete.

The job took three days to complete.

Push Pier System Stabilizes and Lifts Gray, GA Foundation

Lowcountry Foundation Repair installed four galvanized steel push piers around the sinking corner of the foundation. Piers 1, 2, and 4 were pushed to a depth of 10 feet 2 inches to reach load-bearing strata. Pier 3 was pushed to a depth of 13 feet 2 inches. The push piers stabilized and lifted the sinking foundation, closing the gap in the crack.

Home Insurance Company Requires Hazlehurst, GA Foundation to be Fixed

A Lowcountry Foundation Repair inspector went to Gloria’s home and recommended a two-part custom solution to address the settlement issue she was experiencing.

The inspector recommended stabilizing the foundation wall with four galvanized steel push piers. Three of the four piers were installed along the exterior of the garage wall. The fourth pier was pushed in front of the garage, next to the concrete driveway. Load-bearing strata were reached at a depth of 7 feet 2 inches. The job took two days for the Lowcountry Foundation Repair to complete. Gloria was thrilled to call the insurance company back to tell them the foundation was fixed.

Sinking Terrace Stabilized in Macon, GA

Lowcountry Foundation Repair installed six slab piers to stabilize the terrace. The piers and brackets are made of galvanized steel to prevent rust and come with a 25-year transferable warranty. Load-bearing strata was reached at a depth of 16 feet and two inches. The slab was stabilized and lifted, relieving pressure from the brick wall surrounding the terrace.

The job two days to complete and the owner was thrilled with the results!

Sinking, Settling Home Stabilized WIth SmartJacks, Helical Piers in Danville, GA

Lowcountry Foundation Repair recommended stabilizing the sinking wall with seven galvanized steel helical piers. Additional support would be needed under the home in the crawl space. It was recommended to install six SmartJacks under the home to stabilize the subfloor.

SmartJack crawl space piers are custom-cut to size, based on the height of the crawl space. A threaded post cap allows the floor to be lifted. All SmartJack parts are protected against rust with a thick galvanized coating.

Ricky approved the project and the Lowcountry Foundation Repair team was able to stabilize the foundation in three days. Ricky was very happy to have his 128-year-old home protected!

Lowered Electric Bill in Savannah, GA With Crawl Space Encapsulation

Mike called Lowcountry Foundation Repair and scheduled an inspection of the crawl space. The Lowcountry Foundation Repair inspector noted debris, high relative humidity, and a failing vapor barrier system left behind from another contractor.

Lowcountry Foundation Repair was able to reduce the moisture and the humidity under the home by removing the debris and installing a Complete CleanSpace Encapsulation System. After the debris was removed, 2,600 square feet of Drainage Matting was installed to cover the earth. On top of the matting, 2,600 square feet of CleanSpace liner was installed. The liner was also used to wrap the piers in the crawl space. SilverGlo -- graphite-infused expanded polystyrene foam insulation panels -- were installed around the foundation wall to increase thermal insulation. The project required 26 panels measuring 4 feet by 8 feet, cut to size. The crawl space vents were also sealed.

An EverLast CrawlSpace Door replaced the old wooden crawl access door. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed in the crawl space with a condensate pump, sending collected moisture to a SmartDrain where the water could be returned to the earth.

A remote hygrometer was added at the request of the homeowners.

The project took four days to complete and was a success.

Fishbowl Foreclosure_Increased Property Value over $100k

A few years ago, a gentlemen bought a foreclosure for less than $20,000. The seller recognized the severe problems with the house and didn’t see any value in the property other than the land itself. It was assumed that the house would have to be demolished and removed before the land would be worth anything.

The new owner invited one of our inspectors to look at his newly acquired purchase before calling the demolition company. Kris of Lowcountry Basement Systems identified numerous challenges the house was facing.

The middle section of the house had sunk 2 inches. “I put a pencil on the floor and it rolled all the way to the center of the house. The house had taken the shape of a fish bowl.”, Kris stated.
The support beams under the house were shot. The floors bounced up and down when you walked on them.
There were severe cracks in the garage concrete.
Interior walls were not connecting to the ceiling.
Cracks ran up and down walls throughout the house.

The event raised over $10,000 to end homelessness in Effingham County. Teams with four runners and one bed rider competed in three divisions: junior, open and faster pastor.
