Michael J., a contractor in Charleston, SC was working for a client that owned a 160-year-old home. The client wanted to preserve the home. Michael inspected the crawl space and called Lowcountry Basement Systems to fix the wet, damp crawl space.
Lowcountry Basement Systems first removed the debris in the crawl space. Then covered the earth is a CleanSpace drainage matting to help channel water to a sump pump. On top of the drainage matting, CleanSpace liner was used to cover the matting to prevent moisture vapor from the earth from getting into the crawl space.
CleanSpace liner was also used to wrap the 37 crawl space support pillars and the foundation wall in the crawl space. In total, Lowcountry Basement Systems used 2,066 of CleanSpace liner. After the liner was installed, all of the six crawl space vents were sealed. Then, two Energy-Star rated SaniDry Sedona dehumidifiers were installed in the crawl space. Finally, a TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed in the lowest corner of the crawl space to pump the water away from the foundation of the home.
It took four days to complete the job, and Michael J. was happy with the work.
