Interns Energize Lowcountry Basement Systems from the Inside Out

Two young men have brought their technical skills, creativity, and passion to Lowcountry Basement Systems for a stint this summer. I had a chance to sit down with both Braden and Holden Videon to hear about their experiences.

 Braden Videon, Accounting Intern

 

1. Where do you go to school and what are you studying?

The University of Georgia. Bachelor’s in Finance at Terry College of Business.

 

2. What do you do at Lowcountry Basement Systems?

Accounting/cost analysis: Analyze purchase behaviors, accounts payable entry, and create financial models used in making business decisions.

 

3. What skills are you learning that you can see yourself using after graduating?

Organization, critical thinking to solve problems and finding opportunities for increasing efficiency and cost savings, interpersonal skills, team based mindset and a positive attitude when facing challenges.

 

4. What is your favorite thing about Lowcountry Basement Systems?

The culture. Every person involved from the office to the production teams strive to take Lowcountry Basement Systems to the next level, not only in terms of quality of service for the customer, but also in the quality of life for their own families and communities.

 

5. What has been most surprising to you this summer?

I had the opportunity to attend the School of Entrepreneurship at Basement Systems headquarters in Connecticut. It was surprising to see how many different dealers in our network face similar obstacles and challenges that we face on the day to day. It was a great opportunity to share insight and grow as business leaders.

Holden Videon, Marketing Intern

 

1. Where do you go to school and what are you studying?

I am a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design for the subjects of film and animation.

 

2. What do you do at Lowcountry Basement Systems?

I focus on media related projects for marketing, training, and other purposes.

 

3. What skills are you learning that you can see yourself using after graduating?

I have learned a lot about the importance of planning and communication with others, which will definitely be useful for any path I take.

 

4. What is your favorite thing about Lowcountry Basement Systems?

The wonderful people I get to work with.

 

5. What has been most surprising to you this summer?

I didn't expect to be so excited about working.
