Freddy L. of Rincon, GA was referred to Lowcountry Basement Systems by a neighbor. The interior walls of his rental home had cracked and settled. Not wanting his property value to decrease, Freddy first patched the cracks before realizing his house needed something other than a temporary fix. Freddy called the experts at Lowcountry Basement Systems for a free inspection.The inspector recommended a custom solution to fix Freddy’s issues. First helical piles were installed around the perimeter of the house to stabilize the foundation. Helical piers were mechanically “screwed” into the soil and attached to the foundation footing. Next, SmartJacks and supplemental zinc-plated steel PowerBrace beams were installed in the crawlspace to give the subfloor the support needed. With the proper support, the cracks sealed up as the floor became level.
