We recently completed a crawl space stabilization project for a customer experiencing sagging floors due to weakened support joists. The issue was caused by moisture and high humidity, which had compromised the structural integrity of the space. Using our SmartJack Support System, we reinforced the crawl space, restoring stability and leveling the floors above. This solution not only addressed the immediate problem but also provided long-term protection against further damage.

Humidity Reading

An 80% humidity level in a crawl space is problematic because it creates an environment conducive to mold growth, wood rot, and pest infestations. High humidity can weaken structural components like floor joists and support beams, leading to sagging floors and compromised home stability. Additionally, it can increase moisture levels in the living areas above, contributing to poor indoor air quality and potential health risks. Proper moisture control is essential to protect both the crawl space and the overall integrity of the home.

Weaked & Compromised Support

Excess humidity caused the floor joists to weaken. This led to the floors above the space to sink and sag.

Support System Base

For this installation, the team compacted soil and stone to create a solid basement for the steel base plate that the support system in attached too for permanent stability.
