Justin on Hilton Head Island reached out to us with concerns of his floor being spongy and bouncy when he walks over the middle of his home. After our free inspection, it was determined that a concrete pillar in the crawl space was failing and no long supported the area. The main beam separated from the floor joist which gave no support. A SmartJack floor support was installed to fortify the area once again.
This home was experience in problem that many face in the Lowcountry- bouncy and sagging floors. As you can see from the before photo, the span between the wall and the center beam was so great that the wood has started to bow from the great amount of weight above and the severe lack of support below. Our team came in and installed a Powerbrace and Smartjack system to fortified the area for the life of the structure!
This crawl space on Hilton Head Island, SC was wet, damp and nasty!
