Eleven joists under the home were replaced.

The main beam was weak and brittle.

Three SmartJacks were installed to provide proper support.

The new beam is pictured here.
Kenneth B. of Millen, GA had multiple problems in his crawl space. Some of the supporting piers were sinking; the main beam and 11 of the joists under his home were weak and brittle. Kenneth called Lowcountry Basement Systems for help.
To fix all of the issues under the home, Lowcountry Basement Systems replaced the main beam and the 11 joists. Lowcountry Basement Systems also installed three SmartJacks; galvanized steel pillars, to provide additional support where the previous pillars failed.
SmartJacks are high-capacity, fully adjustable steel piers capable of supporting loads greater than 60,000 lbs. They are designed to stop settling and can lift subfloors. Each SmartJack is cut to length and can be adjusted in the future.
The job took three days for the Lowcountry Basement Systems team to install.
