Home Foundation Repair Photo Album: Tree Roots Crack Foundation in Macon, GA
This Macon, GA resident has owned his home since 1987. During the site excavation, a large beech tree was cut down, but unbeknownst at the time, the stump, and it's extensive root system was not properly removed. Because the roots kept growing they tore under the home's foundation, and began to severly crack the slab. We installed 8 push piers to lift the foundation back into place.
Large Door Cracks
This is a severe example of how large cracks can get due to settlement!
Preparation for Push Piers
We use a jack hammer to get through concrete in order to dig a hole for the push piers.
Installation of Push Piers
Two holes are dug into the conrete in order to reach the wall that needs to be lifted.
Final Results of Piering
New concrete is poured over the holes, and the job site is cleaned up!
