The inspector recommended a custom solution for Jane to solve her sinking issues. Six galvanized steel helical piers were first installed around the perimeter of the house where her bricks were cracking. These piers were then connected to steel foundation brackets and lift was attempted. This below-grade solution hydraulically lifted the settled parts of the house and was then concealed from sight.
SmartJacks were then installed in the crawl space underneath the subfloor to stabilize the beams and joists supporting the home. Jane’s problems were fixed with this custom solution, and her home stabilized.
