Home Foundation Repair Photo Album: Unsupported Foundation Fixed with Push Piers and SmartJacks, in Forsyth, GA

Jeremy C. of Forsyth, GA called Lowcountry Basement Systems with a problem. His family’s home appeared to have settled in multiple areas. Sunlight could be seen through some of the walls in the crawl space, and sheetrock was cracked around doorways in parts of the house. An inspector from Lowcountry Basement Systems visited Jeremy’s home and noted a one-inch drop where the floor caves in the living room, and half-inch falls in other areas. The inspector noted cracked, sinking piers in the crawl space underneath the home. He recommended a custom solution of a Push Pier System to help stabilize the foundation of the home from the outside, and galvanized steel SmartJacks to stabilize the subfloors of the house. The galvanized steel push piers are hydraulically driven into the ground, down to the load bearing strata where the weight of the sinking foundation could be transferred from its unstable footing. Four SmartJacks were then installed at key spots underneath the main beam, and Jeremy’s home was now safely supported from the bottom up once again!
